Meet the BAC Executive Board

KEN LAMBERT
Executive Vice President
.............................

A fourth generation bricklayer, Executive Vice President Ken Lambert was appointed to the Executive Board in 1999 and elected to serve a full five-year term in September 2000. Lambert’s family tradition included union service as well as a strong identification with the trade.

Relatively early in his masonry career, he gained extensive on the job experience that allowed him the opportunity to become a craft training instructor at Local 21’s training center in the Chicago area. In November 1989 Ken was hired as apprentice instructor for the 18th Street Development 10 Corporation. He was appointed to District Council #1 as representative and organizer in January 1991. He was the first full-time organizer for BAC’s Northern Illinois District Council where his utilization of the latest organizing techniques and coordination of resources earned him Union-wide prominence. In 1996 he was named District Manager/Vice President for Local 21 IL and the following year, he was elected President of the Local – the youngest principal officer in the Local’s history.

In 1997 Executive Vice President Lambert was appointed to serve on the BAC Executive Council. He continues to work closely with IU leaders to expand and guide the Union’s organizing program.
