TRAC Legislative Update
HR 3408, the Taxpayer Responsibility Accountability and Consistency Act (TRAC), was reintroduced in the 111th Congress by Representatives McDermott-Tierney-Neil in July 2009. Its companion bill in the Senate, S. 2882, was introduced by Senator John Kerry in December of last year. Currently, HR 3408 has 105 House co-sponsors, which should increase to 120 by mid-September. S 2882 has 14 co-sponsors with the expectation that 16 additional Senators will sign on by late December.
