U.S.
Bates Scholarship Program The
U.S. Bates Scholarship Program awards a stipend of $2500
per year for up to four years to three students annually.
The program is open to sons
and daughters of U.S. BAC members (in good
standing) of U.S. BAC Locals who will be juniors
in high school during the 2008-2009 academic
year. Applicants must take or plan to take
the standardized “PSAT”
exam in the fall of their junior year. The selection
of scholarship recipients is administered through the
National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
The next Bates Scholarship cycle will begin in the
fall of 2008. Program information and
the online application form will be accessible at our
website in mid-August 2008. For further information,
please contact BAC’s Education Department at askbac@bacweb.org
or 1-888-880-8BAC ext. 3111.
Again,
U.S. Bates applicants must apply during their junior
year in high school, and must have taken (or plan
to take) the standardized “PSAT”
exam as a junior. The PSAT exam is conducted
by most high schools in October of each year. If a student’s
high school does not conduct this test,
the student should check with their guidance office
to find a testing location in their area.
