As first reported in the January-February 2003 Journal, Local 1 Quebec is now formally affiliated with the International Union. The new Local expands Canada’s membership by roughly 800 tile setters and finishers.

BAC Secretary-Treasurer James Boland, on behalf of the International Union, presented the Local 1 Charter to Director and Financial Secretary Mario Basilico at a Region 10 Council meeting in New Brunswick.

In addition to Local 1 Quebec, the IU has established a new Local in Ontario, Local 41. Members of Local 41 were previously affiliated with Local 4 ON.
