Local 6 Wisconsin Holds Picnic, Presents Honors

Local 4 New Jersey Holds First Apprentice Meeting

Ensuring that apprentices become fully acquainted with all of the rights and responsibilities associated with Union membership, the officers of Local 4 NJ held their first ever apprentice-only meeting in April. Followed by an open forum and buffet dinner, the meeting introduced the apprentices to Local 4’s officers, instructors, and IMI Regional Training Director Bob Mion. Local 4 President Gerald Della Salla told apprentices “this is not just a job, it’s a career for the rest of your lives.” Della Salla says the number of Local 4’s apprentices has doubled, and this new meeting was initiated to help “transform apprentices into quality journeymen.” At left, Local 4 NJ retiree Richie Belafatto offers the Local’s apprentices words of encouragement as Della Salla looks on.

Local 4 California Honors Members

Local 4 CA held its semi-annual meeting this May, and used the opportunity to present honors to several distinguished members. From left, retired Local 4 President and 40-year member Frank Collins, IMI Project Advisor and 40-year member Raoul Cervantes, 50-year Gold Card member Allen Oja, Local 4 President Philip Morris, 40-year member and Reyes Masonry President Augie Reyes, and 40-year member and BAC Region 8 Director John Franco.

Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Association of Canada Meets in Vancouver

BAC and Local 3 BC represented the union tile industry at the Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Association of Canada’s annual convention held in Vancouver this June. The group distributed literature and displayed examples of Union craftsmanship in the TMT trades.
