Ten tile apprentices from throughout the North Central Region, along with their Local coordinators and business representatives, gathered at the Local 15 Missouri/Kansas Training Center on July 14th to participate in the Regional Tile Apprentice Contest. The Contest lasted approximately seven hours.
Local 15 MO/KS President Steve Mullen oversaw the event with the help of Tile Coordinator Tom Murillo and Training Director Don Hunt. Judging the event were James Higgins, Local 67 IL Business Representative Gary Pawlowski, and Local 18 MO President Tim Mueller.
The Local 15 tile finishers were also commended for their contributions to the contest and were “honored to be part of the competition,” according to Murillo.
Local 36 OH apprentice Bill Dunlap, Jr. came in first place, Tim Jakob of Local 67 IL came in second, and Eric Lust of Local 15 MO/KS took third.
Each winner was awarded a trophy and level. Winners will be moving on to the International Apprentice Contest.
