If you are Having Trouble Viewing the Webcast(s) on Your Computer
top
There is no video
Installing Plug-Ins (ActiveX Objects from Microsoft): Sometime PCs users might be asked to install a Windows Media Player Plug-In. PC users should install plug-ins provided by Microsoft, if prompted. Vista users may need to install the legacy Windows Media Player plug-in to view the webcast in an embedded media player.
Player "Not Connecting" to Media: Some firewalls can block access to Windows Media Streams. If you cannot access any video at all and your computer is part of a network, your organization's firewall may be limiting access to Windows Media Video, and you will need to contact your IT office for assistance.

The video quality is poor
We recommend using Windows Media Player version (WPM) 9 or 11. Users of older WPM versions may see lower quality video.
You can download the latest version of Windows Media Player at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows
media/download/default.asp?displang=en
If you’re not sure what version you have, click the “Start” Taskbar in the lower corner of your computer. On the “Start Menu” click “Run”. Type in , then hit “OK". When the Windows Media Player frame opens, select, "Help," then "About Windows Media Player" – the version number will be listed last.
Users on congested Internet connections may experience lower quality video. We recommend using a DSL, Cable Modem, or T1 Internet connection.
Apple Macintosh: Mac users can use the free Flip4Mac media player to watch Windows Media streaming files. Some older Mac OS (version 9 and earlier) can also download the last version of the Mac Media Player from Microsoft.

The volume is too low or there is no sound
Audio/Sound & Volume controls:
- Be sure your laptop or PC speakers are ‘on,’ with the volume at an adequate level so that you can hear the audio portion of the webcast. Most laptop and desktop speakers are built in. Some have a megaphone-type icon on the Toolbar, which says “Volume” when your cursor is rolled over it. Click on that icon to adjust volume levels, and to make sure “Mute” is NOT checked in any of the boxes.
- If you can’t find that icon, you can adjust the sound through the computer’s operating system by
- Going to your computer’s “Start” Taskbar in the corner, and clicking on “Start”
- Select “Control Panel”
- Locate and click on the “Sounds and Audio Device Properties” folder.
- A gray window should pop-up – you can adjust volume levels on the “Sound” tab/page. Also very important – be sure that the “Mute” box is NOT checked.
