Kidney Foundation of Canada Counts on Ontario Retiree

Retired Local 4 ON Business Manager Joe Mollica presented a check to JeanAnn Cousineau of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, and Welland, ON Mayor Cindy Forster in March as part of a National Kidney Month fundraiser. Cousineau, a dialysis patient and Mollica’s sister, inspired him to raise awareness and funding for the Kidney Foundation and organ donation.

The retiree donated his extra, “thirteenth” benefit check from IPF Canada to the Kidney Foundation. “I’ve been very fortunate, and thanks to the International Union, I can do even more for my community. The Union is not just about wages and benefits—we’re about caring and sharing,” says Mollica.
