Diabetes Research Institute Salutes BAC

Tom Karlya, center, Senior Development Director for the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, presents the Foundation's special "Perpetuation" Award" to BAC President John Flynn, right, and Executive Vice President Jerry O'Malley at a luncheon ceremony on July 2. This award is given to organizations that have raised more than $1 million for diabetes research. In accepting the award on behalf of the Union, Flynn paid tribute to "the thousands of BAC members who have donated their time, their energy, and their resources over the years to support research to find a cure for diabetes."
