Local 1 Missouri Honors Retirees

Local 1 MO began a new tradition at its June 15 Retirees Luncheon with the presentation of BAC pocket watches to all Gold Card members. Nineteen of the 33 new Gold Card members attended. “This brings our total number of 50-year members to 225. The record turnout and large number of Gold Card members are a testament to the loyalty and support of Local 1 retirees,” said Local 1 Business Manager Don Brown. Local 1 British Columbia Introduces New Logo

Local 1 BC Business Manager Rob Tuzzi presents BAC President John Flynn with a coffee cup featuring the Local’s new logo, which commemorates the Local’s 100 years of service. The new design is the result of close collaboration between Tuzzi, the Local’s Executive Board, and two Vancouver graphic artists.

New Jersey Bricklayers Keep Tradition Alive Local 15 Alabama Members Receive Gold Cards
Old friends Tom Maguire and Kenny McConkey, both members of Local 4 NJ, began meeting in Newark for a few beers after work in 1946 when they were apprentices. Maguire helped McConkey brick veneer his house for “beer and baloney sandwiches, on white bread with no catsup,” says Maguire. Fifty-five years later, McConkey and Maguire still get together for beer and baloney sandwiches, six days a week, at the Hobe Sound, Florida VFW Post. Local 15 AL member William R.
