2001 Craft Awards Celebrate Best of BAC
The annual BAC Craft Awards program,
now in its fifteenth year, recognizes exceptional masonry
work, union and community service, and individual accomplishments.
Due to the large number of high quality projects submitted
this year, the award categories were expanded to recognize
exceptional work on a regional basis.
The 2001 Awards were
presented at the BAC Executive Council Meeting in September.
As the ceremony got underway, President John J. Flynn remarked, “You
can’t repeat one
word often enough when you talk about the Union, the masonry
crafts, and BAC craftworkers—and that word is ‘pride’….it’s
also the best one-word description of what’s at the
core of the BAC Craft Awards. The projects, the entries,
and the interest level just keep getting stronger and stronger.
Selecting the winners was very difficult—there were
many excellent submissions — each one showing the
best our members have to offer.”
