Attention Travelers: Don’t Lose Credit for
Contributions
Two years ago when the IU issued new uniform reciprocal
agreements they had one goal in mind, namely, to make sure
that members traveling for work receive credit for the pension
and health and welfare contributions they earn when working
outside of their home Local. Since then BAC funds from British
Columbia to Florida have signed the reciprocal agreements.
Today, BAC is closer than ever to its goal of full benefit
reciprocity for all members.
In order for traveling members to benefit
from these agreements, they must complete an Employee Reciprocal
Agreement Authorization
and Release Form. Completion of this form activates the
agreement for the member, and gives the Local benefit
funds where he or she is working the authority to transfer
health
and welfare, and pension contributions back to the member’s
home Local funds.
Don’t miss out on benefits that
you’ve earned.
If you are traveling for work make sure that you complete
the authorization form and submit it to the appropriate
person in the Local where you’re working. Authorization
forms are available from the Locals, or from the Reciprocal
Clearinghouse: Mail: BAC Reciprocal Clearinghouse
