Canadian Union Advantage Benefit Program
New Features Mean Greater Savings for Canadian Members
The Canadian Union Advantage Benefit Program (CUABP) uses the massive bargaining and purchasing power of 500,000 union members in Canada to secure consumer discounts and money-saving benefits for union families. No union dues are used to provide these benefits.
In addition to the Union Affinity MasterCard negotiated with the Bank of Montreal, the CUABP now offers all credit card holders of the CUABP Bank of Montreal Program a “Group Banking Plan”. The Plan offers participating members a wide range of benefits including discounts on mortgages, discounts on personal loans, and premium interest rates on Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs) and retirement investment certificates.
This fall CUABP, in conjunction with ACE-INA Insurance, is planning to offer affiliate members a competitive Accidental Death and Dismemberment Program. This benefit will include direct payment of cash in the event a member is hospitalized as a result of an accident; additional coverage if the accident renders a member permanently and totally disabled; payment in the event of loss of sight or speech; a rehabilitation benefit; accidental death benefit; and a fracture benefit.
