Carpenters Reaffiliate with Building Trades

In December 2002, the Carpenters and Joiners of America reaffiliated with the AFL-CIO’s Building and Construction Trades Department (BCTD). The Carpenters return to the BCTD occurred more than twenty months after their withdrawal from the AFL-CIO in March 2001 over differences with the Federation on spending and organizing priorities. Despite the union’s return to the Building Trades, it has not yet reaffiliated with the AFL-CIO.
