BAC Executive Council: Resolution on Iraq
With talk of war
looming, the BAC Executive Council unanimously passed a resolution
acknowledging the need to support our
troops in a war, without losing sight of the many critical
issues facing working families and the blatant attacks
on unions. The resolution says in part:
“Therefore, be it resolved, that members of the BAC
Executive Council, pledge their support of future U.S. and
allied armed
forces in Iraq if military action is deemed necessary; and
Be it further resolved, that we call on the Bush Administration
to cease the groundless assault on union members and
labor leaders, and instead, promote greater unity on the
home front
with policies that respect and recognize the stake of
all Americans in a growing, stronger economy.”
