Local 2 Nova Scotia Expands Jurisdiction, Gains Work for Members

Cooperation between Local 2 Nova Scotia and the International Union is benefiting members by increasing employment opportunities on Cape Breton Island. Taking on a jurisdictional fight over paving and retaining wall work, the Local successfully secured jurisdiction in these growing industry sectors. “Thanks to the International’s expertise and help with court costs, along with the work of our Local and John Deleskie, our bricklayers are getting the work that’s rightfully theirs,”says Local 2 Business Manager/Financial Secretary Ray Deleskie.
