Trade Tracks in Windsor

Local 6 Business Manager Mike Gagliano proudly displays BAC's exhibit signs.

On May 14 and 15, 2003, Local 6 Ontario participated in a local job fair aimed at bringing the trades message to Windsor area high school students, under-employed youth, and their parents. According to Mike Gagliano, Business Manager of Local 6, job fairs are especially effective when parents are involved, since their input has a substantial impact on what type of educational or career path their children pursue. As a result of Local 6’s participation, Gagliano said, “We have five solid candidates for apprentices from this show. I’d call that a success!”

The program, presented in conjunction with St. Clair College and Human Resources Development Canada, drew more than 1,500 people during the two-day show.
