Editor’s Note: Amanda Wolk, daughter of Local 9 PA member Paul Wolk, is one of two U.S. BAC Bates Scholars selected last year (May/June 2003 Journal):

Dear Sir or Madam:
After completing my first semester at Virginia Wesleyan College, I wanted to update you on my progress and thank you again for the generous scholarship. I took 18 credits, with classes ranging from Philosophy to Mythology to Acting, and finished with 4.0 [average]. I also participated in the musical production “Anything Goes,” which was a wonderful experience! Thank you again for your support of my college endeavors.
