BAC Receives Multiple Honors in Labor Media
Contest
The BAC Journal, BAC’s Organizing
Tools – a
newsletter for BAC officers and organizers, a video
treatment of the BAC/IMI International Apprentice Contest,
and President John J. Flynn’s “President’s
Message” were each recognized for communications
excellence as part of the 2004 Labor Media Contest,
sponsored by the International Labor Communications
Association. Since 1955, the ILCA contest has highlighted
the best in labor media produced or published by international
and local unions. BAC Secretary-Treasurer James Boland
congratulated President Flynn and the IU staff on the
awards, and said, “Conveying the contributions
and achievements of our members, our officers and our
Union, particularly in the areas of organizing and
apprenticeship and training, is a big job. It’s
great to be recognized for doing it well.” The
following ILCA awards, presented to BAC in November
2004, represent outstanding work completed in 2003:
