Local 1 Missouri Celebrates Members’ Service

On June 13th, 130 Local 1 MO retirees attended the Local’s Retirees Luncheon honoring 25 new Gold Card members, 19 of whom were present to receive their service awards. Business Manager Don Brown said, “I’m pleased to see such a large number of retirees here today. With 25 new Gold Card members, this gives Local 1 a total of 249 Gold Card members. This overwhelming turnout of our retirees and ever-growing number of Gold Card members shows the solidarity of Local 1’s members.”

Ontario Member Receives Gold Card

Brother Charles Godfrey Oakley received his Gold Card in September 2003 for 50 years of service to BAC. Brother Oakley joined the Union in 1924 in New York , and moved several years later to Halifax , Nova Scotia , where he worked until his retirement and relocation to Ontario . His father, the late Charles Alexander Oakley, received his 50-year service award in 1974. Charles proudly displays both Gold Cards.
