The role of the International Union in providing members with timely issue- and candidate-related information to assist them in making knowledgeable decisions at the polls was reinforced by delegates to the 2005 IU Convention.
The following Guide offers members and their families the opportunity to see for themselves how well congressional and state candidates reflect their interests at the jobsite, at home, and in their communities, so be sure to look these over:
- Overview of Key Races – a summary of bellwether races that members, particularly in these locations, should be especially aware of.
- Voting Records of U.S. Representatives and Senators – a select group of recorded votes by current U. S. Representatives and Senators, and whether they supported or opposed BAC’s position in areas such as health care, pension reform, taxes, job safety, and worker rights.
For updates and additional sources of information, be sure to visit the “Legislative & Political” section of www.bacweb.org, where members
can also access Take Action, a ‘member only’ area with direct advocacy and candidate-related links and information.
