The energy and skill of Local 18 OH retirees are the envy of many half their age, as the list of projects they’ve helped create for their communities continues to grow. A 35-foot tall tile mosaic of a lighthouse on the sidewall of the Courthouse Annex in Cincinnati, sponsored by Lighthouse Ministries, is one shining example. Other projects completed by the retirees include the Alexandria Firehouse Monument, Korean War Veterans Monument, 1,000 Hands Project for McKee School Park, Southern Campbell Fire Station, Cincinnati Police Memorial, and the World Peace Building Monument – a tribute to the firefighters in Newport, Kentucky. Recently, retirees completed a monument dedicated to the police, firefighters, EMS and rescue service providers in Alexandria, Kentucky. In front of the monument, from left, are retired 18 OH members Bill Loos, Bill Hofstetter, and Vernon Wolzorn. |
