First Woman to Complete Tile Apprenticeship in Local 1 QC

Local 1 Quebec recently recognized Ginette Gatien as the first woman in Local 1 Quebec’s history to reach journey-level status.

After successfully completing her vocational studies diploma in tile and her 6,000-hour apprenticeship requirements, Sister Gatien passed her journey-level exam with an above-average score in January.

A strong Union supporter who believes in, and respects workers’ rights, she is described by Local 1 Director Mario Basilico as “a hard worker with integrity and good knowledge of all the aspects of our trade.”

Above from left are Local 1 QC Business Agent Aldo Malorni, Sister Gatien, and Director Mario Basilico.
