These photos, taken in August 2008, capture Local 4 members, employed by South Bend-based Ziolkowski Construction, at work on Eck Hall, which opened in January of this year. According to Local 4 President Ted Champ and foremen and Local 4 members Dan Stephenson and Dale Bollenbacher, the average number of members working on the project was 18, with 30 employed during peak construction. With masonry accounting for $4.16 million of total construction, members installed 320,000 brick, 78,000 block and 4,200 pieces of stone, accumulating more than 22,000 work hours.
