Local 9 Pennsylvania Honors Apprentice Excellence

Local 9 Pennsylvania and the Masonry Contractors Association of Western Pennsylvania co-hosted their Apprentice Contest in late April at the Monroeville Mall in Monroeville, PA. More than 30 craftworkers competed in two apprentice-level categories—1st/2nd year and 3rd/4th year. Apprentices were given two and one-half hours to construct a masonry pier ranging in size and difficulty. Contest judges included retired members from all of Local 9’s Chapters. Local 9 President David (Bucky) Donkin, Sr. and Apprentice Coordinator Ed Frieze presented awards to the following apprentices:
1st and 2nd Year Apprentices:
