The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers' apprenticeship and training system is widely recognized for producing highly skilled craftworkers. Through Local union programs and those offered through the International Masonry Institute, BAC members and contractors have access to training opportunities unmatched in the masonry industry.

International Masonry Institute (IMI)

The International Masonry Institute (IMI) is a strategic alliance between the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers and the contractors who employ those members. Through education, technical support, research and training, the IMI works to provide a more efficient construction delivery system.

International Masonry Training and Education Foundation (IMTEF)

The International Masonry Training and Education Foundation (IMTEF) provides in-depth, quality training, certifications and continuing education programs for BAC members in all trowel trades: brick, stone, tile, marble, terrazzo, refractory, plaster, cement, and pointing/cleaning/caulking. IMTEF also helps fund and administer training programs for all Local BAC unions.
